Why choose Waro fashion?

High-density faux fur, the same as our throws

Pile density is the most important criterion for judging the quality of faux fur. It measures the number of fibres over a given area. The higher it is, the fuller, softer and more durable the fur.

Density levels:

  • Low density: you can see the fabric backing when you part the pile. It feels flat and the fibres quickly mat down. This is what you find in most fast-fashion accessories.
  • Medium density: pleasant at first touch, but the pile flattens and tangles after a few weeks. Many "premium" accessories on the market are at this level.
  • High density: the pile stands up on its own, springs back when you run your hand over it and keeps its volume. Few brands work at this level for small pieces.
  • Very high density: you can't see the backing at all. It comes close to animal fur, without the animal. Waro accessories, at 800 g/m², are in this category.

What changes with a Waro accessory: our bandanas, headbands, fingerless gloves and cardigans are cut from the faux fur that made our throws famous, woven at high density in the partner workshops we have worked with for years. A small format, with no compromise on material.

Fleece or faux fur: which material should I choose?

Choose the material according to how you'll use it. Fleece and faux fur don't have the same feel, the same look or the same function.

The two families:

  • Fleece: a soft, light knit with a short pile that traps air. It keeps you warm without weighing you down and disappears under a coat. It's the everyday material, for walks, working from home or cold mornings.
  • Faux fur: a longer, denser pile that stands out. It's just as warm and adds texture to the simplest outfit. It's the statement material, the bandana peeking out or the headband that gets noticed.
  • Lined pieces: some accessories combine the two, with fur on the outside for style and a fleece lining on the inside for comfort against the skin.

The Waro tip: if you only want one, choose faux fur for a visible accessory (bandana, headband, collar) and fleece for a cosy piece worn for long periods (cardigan, fingerless gloves). And if you're still undecided, our customers often end up taking both.

Finishes designed to last several winters

An accessory is handled more than a throw: you tie it, take it off, stuff it in a bag. Its lifespan therefore depends as much on the finishes as on the material.

What to check:

  • The seams: a tight, even overlock stitch stops the fur fraying at the edges. Loose seams give way after the first few washes.
  • Pile retention: a quality fibre doesn't shed or pill. A short or poorly fixed fibre leaves marks on your coat from the very first outing.
  • The shape: a well-cut accessory keeps its shape after dozens of knots and washes, without deforming or twisting.
  • The lining: it protects the back of the fur, adds comfort and limits friction against the skin.

What makes the difference at Waro: every piece is designed in Roubaix by Victorine, our designer, then made to the same standards as our throws. And care stays simple: 30 °C on a delicate cycle, liquid detergent, dry flat in the open air, then a quick brush with a soft brush so the piece regains its fluffiness. Like our throws, our accessories are made to stay with you for years.

Warmth where the cold strikes first

The neck, ears and hands are the first areas to get cold in winter. When the temperature drops, the body first protects its vital organs and reduces circulation to the extremities. That's why your fingers get cold long before your stomach does.

The areas that matter:

  • The neck: poorly protected and rich in blood vessels, it's how the cold gets under your coat. A faux fur bandana or collar closes that gap.
  • The head and ears: very exposed to the wind, they cool down fast. A headband covers them without flattening your hair, unlike a beanie.
  • The hands: the first to suffer from the cold, they need warmth without losing dexterity. Fingerless gloves leave your fingers free for your phone, keys or coffee.
  • The chest: a cardigan adds an insulating layer under your coat, or replaces the throw at home.

Why it's a good investment: a Waro accessory is a well-chosen piece that transforms your comfort all winter long, from €35. You wear it outdoors, keep it for years, and it has the same feel as the throw waiting for you on the sofa.
