NOTRE HISTOIREWhat material to choose for a warm, soft throw?
The choice of material is the first question consumers ask themselves. There are significant differences between fleece, faux fur and natural plaids. Fleece offers even warmth and ease of care. Faux fur plaid, on the other hand, offers enveloping comfort and a luxurious visual appeal. At Waro, both materials are crafted to a standard that is rare on the market: each plaid is designed to offer extreme softness from the first touch, and this softness does not disappear after washing. This is one of the criteria that distinguishes a good-quality plaid from a low-quality product.
How to recognize good quality plaid?
You can tell a good-quality plaid by its weight. The majority of plaids sold on the market have a grammage of between 300 and 600 g/m2. Waro plaids average 1,000 g/m2, almost double the market average. This high grammage guarantees superior material density, well-distributed warmth, greater durability over time and a naturally enveloping fall. Lightweight plaid degrades quickly, losing its shape and softness. A Waro plaid, on the other hand, can be kept for over ten years without losing its quality. It's this criterion, more than the price, that defines a real investment.
Can plaid really save energy?
Yes, it's a concrete, quantifiable argument. A quality fleece rug or faux fur rug can reduce the temperature in your home by an average of 2°C without making any difference to your comfort. Every degree less represents around 7% savings on your heating bill. Over a winter season, the purchase of a Waro plaid will pay for itself from the very first winter. In the face of rising energy costs, investing in a good-quality plaid becomes a gesture that's both comfortable and financially intelligent.
Why buy a Waro plaid rather than another?
When consumers compare plaid brands, three questions come up: is it really the softest, does it last, and is it worth the price? At Waro, the answer to all three is yes! The average weight of Waro plaids is 1000 g/m2, compared with 300 to 600 g/m2 for most competing brands. Whether you're looking for an ultra-warm fleece throw, a luxurious, high-end faux fur throw, or simply a good-quality throw, Waro is the benchmark. Add to this our authentic family history, which is not a marketing ploy, but the founding promise of the company.
How long does a good plaid last and how do you maintain it?
The lifespan of a throw depends directly on its quality and manufacture. A first-price throw wears out in one or two seasons: pilling, loss of softness, deformation... A good-quality throw, made from carefully selected materials, can accompany its owner for more than 10 years. Waro plaids are designed with durability in mind: they are machine-washable, resistant to repeated cycles and retain their softness over time. In terms of care, we recommend washing at 30°, without fabric softener, and air drying. One purchase, a decade of comfort!
